I’m going to Lisbon for a long weekend. Can anyone recommend a hotel, or bed and breakfast, or “clean and tidy” youth hostel somewhere in the downtown area? Things to do?

lucky you! From what I heard, it’s absolutely a must to ride between the upper and the lower city…they have a cute cable car, and the architecture is amazing.
